The one thing that get’s me really excited about spring is barbeque food. The weather is just starting to get warm enough, soon you’ll be able to smell bbq’ing in the air. You know like when you past a house and you can totally tell they had bbq for dinner? Well, it’s not quite warm enough yet to be standing outside to grill. But no worries because Billy Bob’s BBQ has got you covered! (I wonder how many times I’ve said bbq 🙂 Clearly you can tell I love it)
You can find this sweet spot only 10 minutes away from Marist. It’s a very laid back college sports bar type place. They place is decorated with street signs, beer lights, and they even have a breathalyzer! Overall, a very fun and relaxed atmosphere. Only warning about this place, don’t come here if you’re on a diet! Why? Because once you open the menu it’s clear that you’ll want to eat everything! Piece of advice come with a group of friends so you can try the different meal options and desserts.
I got the Beef Brisket Sandwich and my friend got the Classic Pulled Pork Sandwich, each came with a large pile of french fries. Both were amazing. They were jam packed with flavor and juices. Be warned they are a delicious mess to eat. They give you paper towels instead of napkins, clear indicator that it gets messy. The meat was really tender, it’s cooked up to 14 hours in a smoker. They make all their bbq sauces and dry rubs. So, you know this place is good. If this isn’t enough the chef is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. After finishing our meals that were fit for football players, we got dessert. The best part we didn’t feel guilty. Dessert was Irish Cheesecake and Peanut Butter/Jelly Pie. Both were decadent. Our personal favorite was the Peanut Butter/Jelly Pie.
Next time you’re looking for great bbq head over here. They also have weekly specials like Monday $1 pulled pork sliders, Tuesday 50 cent wing nights, and more.
